ACCIDENTS:  If an accident occurs involving another vehicle or personal property, Renter must notify police and Dave’s RVs immediately after the vehicle is safely pulled over to a stop and report all damage. Renter is responsible to provide a legible copy of police report upon returning the vehicle. If accident involves the RV only (ie – you bump a tree) Renter must notify Dave’s RVs to assess the damage prior to continuing the trip.  Renter is responsible for the deductible amount (for EACH separate accident) plus any other damages the insurance does not cover.

AGE OF USE, PERSONAL AND PASSENGER CONDUCT:  Primary Renter is at least 25 years of age, will be an occupant of the unit and is solely responsible for the conduct of guests through the ENTIRE rental period. The driver and passengers will be seated and properly using seat belts while the rental is in motion. No one may be allowed on the roof of the rental at any time and no one is to occupy any towed rental or other towed-vehicle while the rental is in motion.

APPLIANCES: We attempt to keep convenience items such as A/C, heat, awning, microwave, TV, etc…in working order but they can malfunction during the rental. We will try to get issues addressed while the rental is underway, however, no monetary compensation will be made. Please see the “Things Happen” and We Try to Help clause. For assistance, give us a call at (616) 259-0031 or (616) 799-RENT.

AWNING: Damage to awnings is very common and can happen from rain, gusts of wind, etc. Typical cost to fix one slightly bent awning arm can be $400 or more. The use of the awning is done AT MY OWN RISK and any damages for whatever reason will be deducted from the security deposit or invoiced separately if the deposit does not cover the cost of the repair.

CAMPER PERFORMANCE: Dave’s RVs will not be held responsible for the performance of your rental when you are not hooked up to the proper electrical outlet (30A or 50A). (ex: houses, fairgrounds, fields, empty lots). It is the responsibility of the Renter to reserve a camper based on the amenities offered by their camping location. *See “Electrical System” in the Full Terms and Conditions for more information.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Any SECURITY deposits that have been paid are fully refunded. Renter will receive a refund of paid rental fees & services based on the following schedule:

  • 31 days or more before start date
    • Option 1 – Credit on your account with us for the full reservation deposit which expires 1 year from the date of cancellation and allows you to reschedule without penalty.
    • Option 2 – Get ½ of your reservation deposit refunded back to your card
  • 30 days or less before start date
    • Forfeit your full reservation deposit

NO REFUNDS will be given for reservation no-shows, early returns or interruptions that occur due to inclement weather or acts of God.

CLEANING: The interior and exterior of the camper will be clean when you get it. The unit should be returned in the same general condition that you received it and with the waste tanks empty. If excess cleaning is required the card on file will be charged at the current rates at the time of the rental.

COLD WEATHER USAGE: In winter, the unit may be winterized (you will be notified) and as a result you will not be able to use the water until you reach a warmer climate. You may use the toilet but flush it with antifreeze. During the seasons when temperatures reach freezing, Renter will use a certified RV Tech to winterize the unit before returning to freezing climates.

COMPARABLE UNIT: Dave’s RVs reserves the right to place you in a comparable unit. This is VERY UNCOMMON (happened only once) but situations do arise where we will need to move you into another camper. EX: If the unit you reserved was damaged on a previous rental and needs repairs.

CONDITION OF RENTAL AND RESPONSIBILITY OF REPAIR: Renter accepts the condition of the unit “AS IS” upon pickup and as noted on the Departure Form. Renter may be held responsible for any damage to the unit, appliances or furnished equipment that goes missing while in the Renter’s possession and possibly for down time or administrative fees in connection to the loss depending on the cause. Upon return of the unit, there will be a Return inspection completed and Renter will be responsible for any costs associated with the items noted.

DELIVERY: The Renter may be held liable for any damages to the rental unit, the property where the rental is being used or any third-party damages from the point the Renter takes possession until Dave’s RVs retakes possession.

DEPARTURE: Renter is required to complete the Departure Orientation and Inspection with a Dave’s RVs representative to note any damages / issues and Renter may be held liable for any damages / issues found during the Return Inspection.

DRIVER PROVIDED: In the event Dave’s RVs provides a driver for the rental period, the Renter listed on the Rental Agreement remains the responsible party.

DRIVING CLAUSE: Recreational Vehicles and towable travel campers can handle differently and require more skill and expertise to operate safely than a passenger vehicle. More clearance above, in front of, behind, and beside is needed to operate safely. Due to size and handling characteristics, the rental shall not be operated at speeds in excess of posted highway TRUCK speed limits. Spotters are necessary to assist the driver in backing up the rental. The certifications and qualifications of any driver are solely at the discretion and RISK of the Renter. Dave’s RVs has not evaluated the skill and expertise of any such driver.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: The rental unit is designed to properly operate by being plugged into 30 amp (120 Volt) or 50 amp (240 Volt) service or ran by the onboard generator (if so equipped). It is my responsibility to investigate on my end to make sure my campsite meets my electrical needs. I understand that running the A/C by using a 15amp reducer and attempting to plug into a house outlet may cause damage to the A/C, trip the breakers or damage the house outlet. I also understand the onboard 12 volt battery in the “house” or travel trailer (if applicable) is meant to power the CO2 detector, which will not work if the camper battery is not kept charged. Charing the camper battery can be done by either a) plugging into shore power, b) running the RV engine or c) running the RV generator.

FESTIVALS AND LOCATIONS: Pre-approval for all festivals is REQUIRED. ***STRICTLY PROHIBITED*** Burning Man (NV) and Lake of Fire (MI). ***RESTRICTED TO SELECT RVS*** Electric Forest (MI) and Faster Horses (MI). Under no circumstances may the rental be operated off road. The unit I am renting is to stay within the continental United States of America or Canada and may only be used on public roadways with sufficient width and clearance to allow the rental to be operated safely and without damage.

FRESH WATER and SEPTIC TANKS: Dave’s RVs will initially fill the fresh water tank if asked to by the renter as long as freezing conditions are not imminent. Any rentals returned without the BLACK and GRAY septic tanks emptied will have the card on file charged at the current rates at the time of the rental.  (Nov 1st – Apr 1st FEE = $200)

FUEL AND PROPANE: RVs will depart with a full tank of gasoline. A $25 service fee and the cost of refueling will be charged to the card on file if refueling upon return is required.

You will have enough propane in the tank for your trip. Please refill the tank to the same level as when you departed. If propane tank is not refilled, you will be charged according to usage based on the prorated cost of a full tank at the time of rental.

INSURANCE: You must purchase insurance through Dave’s RVs.com, one our designated third-party associates or provide documentation of coverage. The third-party insurance language will prevail over any other insurance language. You are responsible for the deductible amount (for EACH separate accident) plus any other damages the insurance does not cover. This insurance does not cover Loss of Use or our administrative expenses incurred processing a damage claim. Coverage is void if you materially breach this Agreement, or if you fail to cooperate in any loss investigation conducted by our insurer or us. You must: (a) report all damage to us and all accidents to us and the police as soon as you discover them and (b) provide us with a legible copy of any service of process, pleading, or notice of any kind related to an accident or other incident involving the Vehicle. You are responsible for ALL damage to the camper that is not covered by the insurance policies or that is in excess of the insurance limits. You are responsible for all damage or injury you cause to third parties. This applies to all rentals, including deliveries.

ALL three levels of insurance (Basic, Essential, Peace of Mind) include glass coverage, which covers you for *repairable* chips and cracks at no extra charge.  For example, 1-2 minor chips, not in the driver field of vision, which are caused by collision or comprehensive are covered with no deductible.  Damage requiring a windshield *replacement* will be subject UP TO a $1,000 deductible depending on the cost of the replacement windshield.

KEYS: Keys will be given upon possession of the camper. If you are a delivery customer and are not at campsite upon delivery, the keys will be hidden and we will notify you of the location. Lost keys will result in a $100 replacement fee.

MILEAGE FEE: 100 miles per night rented is included as part of the rental fee. Then charged at $0.35 per mile to the card on file for any excess miles traveled. Estimated total mileage is billed up front.

NO SMOKING AND STRONG ODORS: No smoking, hookah, or recreational drugs are allowed! Dave’s RVs operate smoke free and we take this responsibility to our clients very SERIOUSLY. It is difficult to remove odors and allergens associated with smoke and other strong odors. A smoke / odor removal fee may be assessed to pay for professional cleaning if a unit is returned with the presence of smoke, a smoke smell or any other strong odors.

PARTNERING AND DISPUTES: This Agreement does not create any type of partnership between Renter, Dave’s RVS, or Rental Owner. This Agreement may not be cancelled or changed except in writing. This Agreement must be signed by all parties if there are any changes or cancellations. This Agreement is not assignable by Renter. The Renter agrees that if there are any disputes or claims related to the use of the rental, these disputes will be resolved in the same County that Dave’s RVs is located. This Agreement will follow any applicable laws made by the state where Dave’s RVs is located. If Dave’s RVs prevails in a suit that arises to enforce this Agreement, Renter agrees that Dave’s RVS is entitled to recover all costs and attorney’s fees incurred in that action. Warranties, Releases, Indemnification, and Assignment Renter acknowledges that Dave’s RVs might not own the rental that the Renter is using. Dave’s RVs may rent the rental pursuant to a third-party agreement with the owner of the unit.

PASSENGERS AND CONDUCT: Renter acknowledges that Dave’s RVs has control over neither, how many passengers a Renter allows in a rental, nor the conduct of these passengers in a rental. Therefore, the Renter is solely responsible for the number of passengers and their conduct. While the rental is in motion, Renter agrees that they and the passengers will use seat belts properly. No one is allowed on the roof of a rental unless removing a snagged tree branch. No one can be in a towed rental while it is in motion. Towed vehicles are not allowed without written approval from Dave’s RVs. See TOWING section for more information.

PERSONAL ITEMS: Dave’s RVs is not responsible for any articles or personal property left in the rental or premises and will apply appropriate shipping and handling fees to return items. Unclaimed items will be held in Lost and Found for 30 days and then be donated to charity.

PET POLICY (Some Dogs are allowed and must be pre-approved – $50 fee will apply): Allergies to animals are very common and the odors/allergens related are hard to remove. We must STRICTLY ENFORCE this policy. Any evidence of unapproved pets will result in a $200 fee for Dave’s RVs to treat properly for fleas and allergens. In addition, any damage caused by pets will be withheld from the deposit or charged to the credit card on file.

RENTAL ADD-ON’S (racks, grills, etc…): Dave’s RVs is not responsible for any damage caused to Renter personal items from the use of a rental add-on.  If a rental add-on is returned with damage or defects, the Renter will be held liable. The Renter will be charged the amount to purchase a replacement of that item and take possession of the damaged item.

RENTAL DATES AND TIMES:  The Renter agrees to arrive within 10 minutes of the specific pickup and drop off times as indicated on each reservation. Dave’s RVs reserves the right to charge the Renter’s credit card a late fee from a minimum of $50 and up to 1 extra night’s rental price or cancel the reservation. Dave’s RVs will make every effort to accommodate Renter. However, staff availability may affect this goal and Dave’s RVs has the right to change times and will notify the Renter in advance.

RIGHT OF POSSESSION: Dave’s RVs ALWAYS has right of possession of the rental over Renter. If in the event and with sole and absolute discretion, Dave’s RVs officers or employees determine the rental is at risk of damage or loss, Dave’s RVs shall have the absolute right, but not the obligation, to recover the rental from Renter regardless of the amount of time remaining in the Rental Agreement. In the event Dave’s RVs recovers a rental, in addition to those costs payable pursuant to other parts of this Agreement, Renter shall pay all costs associated with such recovery including, but not limited to, employee wages, travel costs, fuel and repairs.

SECURITY DEPOSIT: The Security Deposit is provided to protect against damage or theft of the Rental Unit or violation of the Renter’s Agreement contained in these Terms and Conditions. An inspection is done after each Rental is returned to look for damage.

SECURITY DEPOSIT REFUND: Any damage to the rental unit is the responsibility of the Renter and will be deducted from the Security Deposit. Dave’s RVs has up 7 days from the return of the unit to complete the inspection for damages and contact the Renter with the information. The Security Deposit will be submitted for return within 7 days of check-in if there are no damages to the rented unit and can be held up to 60 days if damages occur that need quotes and, or repairs.

THEFT AND VANDALISM: Renter must report all incidents of theft or vandalism to us and the police as soon as they are discovered and provide a copy of the police report to Dave’s RVs upon return.

THINGS HAPPEN AND WE TRY TO HELP! Plain and simple things happen. RVs and Travel Trailers can breakdown or items can break during use. When “things happen,” YOU AGREE TO WORK WITH DAVE’S RVS and contact us FIRST via phone, text or email to help them trouble shoot as problems arise. Dave’s RVs will work with you over the phone, and for serious issues, will dispatch an RV tech if they deem necessary. It is at Dave’s RVs SOLE DISCRETION to dispatch a service tech to my location for serious issues. If a Renter calls for a service tech without prior authorization from Dave’s RVs, Renter will be financially responsible for the cost of the technician and his repair. Minor inconveniences that can be remedied with nearby solutions may be asked to be ignored until the unit is returned. When situations arise, we will work to try and resolve them but not all issues can be fixed in the short time your renting from us.

TIRE DAMAGE: I understand I am financially responsible for any tire damage that occurs during the rental period. Damaged tires must be repaired or replaced before continuing the trip. Rental begins once Renter takes possession of rental unit or, if a delivery, when the assigned Dave’s RVs delivery driver leaves the lot.

TOLL ROADS:  Toll charges are the responsibility of the Renter and Dave’s RVs reserves the right to charge a SERVICE FEE of $25 + the cost of each toll ticket we receive for the dates of your rental.  Speed of delivery of the toll tickets varies by state so toll tickets will often be billed after the return check-in is already processed.  The same policy will be enforced with Speeding Tickets.

TOWING: Towed vehicles are not allowed without written approval and is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. Renter agrees to accept all liability and responsibility for any damages that occur to the rental unit or tow vehicle while in their possession. Renter agrees they have experience connecting, towing and operating travel trailers or towing a vehicle. Renter agrees they have the proper tow vehicle and proper towing accessories to safely tow the travel trailer or tow a vehicle. Renter gives Dave’s RVs the right to inspect all equipment prior to releasing the rental unit and fully understands they may terminate my reservation if my equipment is unsatisfactory.

WHAT WE SUPPLY: Dave’s RVs will supply the Rental unit with some kitchen supplies, septic tabs, and SPECIAL SINGLE-PLY TOILET PAPER. Do not flush anything else down the toilet or clogs will occur and may be subject to an additional service fee to repair.

DISCLAIMERS: RENTER ACCEPTS RENTAL “AS IS” WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT RESERVATION. DAVE’S RVS AS WELL AS THE OWNER OF THE RENTAL DOES NOT WARRANT AND EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ANY AND ALL WARRANTIES ON THE RENTAL INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE RENTAL OR TIRE CONDITION, SUITABILITY, OR FITNESS OF THE RENTAL OR TIRES FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE. YOUR EXCLUSIVE REMEDY FOR ANY AND ALL CLAIMS OF DAMAGE RELATED TO USE OF THE RENTAL SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE TOTAL RENT PAID OR PAYABLE BY YOU TO DAVE’S RVS UNDER THIS AGREEMENT. BY EXECUTION OF THIS AGREEMENT, RENTER FURTHER RELEASES AND HOLDS HARMLESS DAVE’S RVS AND RENTAL OWNER FROM ANY AND ALL CLAIMS FOR DAMAGES AND CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES INCURRED BY RENTER AND ANY OTHER OCCUPANT OF THE RENTAL INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, DAMAGES FOR PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH, COSTS FOR REPLACEMENT RENTALS, FUEL, TELEPHONE, TRAVEL, MEALS, LODGING COSTS, LOSS OF PERSONAL PROPERTY, LOSS OF REVENUE, OR FOR ANY OTHER DIRECT, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL LOSS OR DAMAGE OF ANY KIND THAT RENTER OR ANY OCCUPANT OF THE RENTAL MAY INCUR. RENTER FURTHER HEREBY AGREES TO INDEMNIFY, SAVE, AND FOREVER HOLD HARMLESS DAVE’S RVS AND RENTAL OWNER FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY, CLAIMS, OR CAUSES OF ACTION OF ANY KIND OR CHARACTER WHATSOEVER, AND BY WHOMEVER ASSERTED, ARISING FROM OR IN ANY WAY GROWING OUT OF THE OPERATION OR USE OF THE RENTAL UNDER THIS AGREEMENT AND AGREES, IN SUCH EVENT, TO PROVIDE A DEFENSE THEREFORE AS CHOSEN AND DIRECTED BY DAVE’S RVS AND TO PAY ANY EXPENSES IN THE DEFENSE OF ANY SUCH CLAIM OR LAWSUIT THIS AGREEMENT INCLUDES, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO, CLAIMS OF NEGLIGENCE OR GROSS NEGLIGENCE ON THE PART OF DAVE’S RVS ANO/OR THE RENTAL OWNER. RENTER UNDERSTANDS AND AGREES THAT AS PART OF THE CONSIDERATION OF DAVE’S RVS RENTING THE RENTAL TO RENTER, RENTER DOES HEREBY ASSIGN TO DAVE’S RVS ANY CAUSE OF ACTION JUDGMENT OR SETTLEMENT AS THE RENTER MAY HAVE AGAINST ANY PERSON, FIRM OR CORPORATION, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAVE’S RVS AND/OR THE RENTAL OWNER, TO SECURE SATISFACTION AND DISCHARGE OF ANY JUDGMENT OVER AND AGAINST DAVE’S RVS AND/OR THE RENTAL OWNER FOR ACTUAL, CONSEQUENTIAL AND/OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, AND/OR CLAIMS FOR INDEMNITY AND/OR CONTRIBUTION, STATUTORY, CONTRACTUAL OR OTHERWISE.
